Math Sounds Broken: Quantum Buffering

About this video
Math sounds broken when a quantum wave gets stuck. This 3D animation turns a finite Anderson-model illustration into spreading plucks and a short comic stutter.
The mathematical topic is localization and delocalization in the Anderson model. OpenAI, ChatGPT's creator, reports pure-point spectrum for the 2D uniform-disorder model at every positive disorder. This finite 19x19 lattice comparison is illustrative, not an infinite-volume proof or a claim of a 2D phase transition. The sounds are designed sonification, not literal quantum noise. The linked Lean scope covers spectral-set identification, not the full pure-point claim.

Two separately initialized unitary evolutions of a delta wave packet on a finite 19x19 square lattice with open boundaries, H=A+WV. The same fixed uniform random diagonal sample is used at W=0.5 and W=10. Site height and radius map probability amplitude; they are not particle trajectories. The second run resets at 6 seconds. The weak-disorder run is replayed backwards at the end to close the visual loop. Finite short-time spreading does not establish a 2D delocalization transition or any infinite-volume spectral theorem. Stereo width maps effective occupied-site count at each pluck; the stutter is editorial sonification, not literal quantum sound.
Sound and visuals: original code-generated synthesis and Three.js animation. No third-party samples or compositions. Native 2160x3840 at 60 fps.
Source-reported research result, not independently proof-audited in this production. The public ChatGPT product is not claimed to have proved it.

Localization and delocalization in the Anderson model
Resolves the predicted spectral contrast for the lattice Anderson model with independent uniform site potentials. In dimension two, every positive disorder strength gives almost surely pure-point spectrum. In every fixed dimension d ≥ 3, sufficiently weak positive disorder gives purely absolutely continuous spectrum on a fixed open interval with nonzero spectral weight. (Lean)
